New ASL Coordinator
Happy New Year from DHHS!
2014 is bringing some changes to DHHS and we would like to begin by welcoming MaryEllen Graham as our new ASL Coordinator!
“I’m the ASL Coordinator for DHHS and I’m responsible for the curriculum that is used within our Community Sign Language courses that we offer in West Michigan. I also work with the teachers to ensure that they have all of the accurate information as well as all of the appropriate materials for their courses.
I just recently moved back to Grand Rapids which is where I was born and raised from Rochester, NY. I attended RIT/NTID and received my Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science Sports Physiology and Psychology and then received my Masters of Science in Secondary Education specializing in Deaf Education.
Some facts about myself include that I was born deaf, I love photography and also playing Slow Pitch Softball.
I look forward to working with DHHS and I’m excited to see all of the new faces in the Community learning Sign Language!”
