I am the Interpreter Referral Administrative Assistant. My primary responsibility is to be a welcoming face to visitors as they enter the D&HHS office. I will assist visitors with their needs and direct them to the appropriate office for further assistance. I also help the Interpreter Referral Specialist in keeping the list of independently contracted interpreters up to date and assist in handling the details for scheduling interpreter job assignments. I will be the pleasant voice you receive when you place a call to our main number, and also may be the person you see when you make a call to the video phone.
I am a recent graduate of Lansing Community College where I obtained an Associate Degree of Applied Arts in Sign Language Interpreting. I took the Educational Interpreters Performance Assessment, EIPA, during my second year in the 3-year Interpreter Training Program. I am also pursuing a certification for the BEI I. In my spare time I enjoy camping, fishing, enjoying the outdoors and reading. My husband, Lance, and I live in West Michigan with our three children, Hailee, age 15, and twin boys Logan and Mason age 12. I also like to watch my children’s sporting competitions, Cross Country in the fall for the boys and Softball in the spring for my daughter. I look forward to meeting you!
