Why #YesToDeaf? For so long, the perception of Deaf people were of those who cannot hear and speak. People who are disabled and deserved to be pitied and given charity, instead of people who are a cultural and linguistic minority deserving full and equivalent access.

Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services created the #YesToDeaf several months ago, to affirm the Deaf’s right to exist as a cultural and linguistic minority. We say yes to diversity, yes to ASL, and most importantly, yes to the Deaf being.
