American Sign Language Teacher

Part-Time Contracted Position

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Teach from provided ASL curriculum for students of all proficiency levels.
  • Follow curriculum that incorporates cultural and linguistic aspects of ASL.
  • Provide individual instruction when needed before and after class and feedbackto students

  • Schedule – Evening shift for classes – tutoring is dependent on student and teachers’ availability.
  • Expected Hours – 3 – 6 per week depending on availability.

Accountant

Part-Time Position

Position Overview

To aid in furthering our mission at Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services, we are seeking an Accountant to take ownership of the financial management and business functions of the organization. We desire a candidate who possesses an understanding of all aspects of accounting including proficiency of software and an aptitude for interpreting the financial statements. This individual would be in charge of maintaining records of all activities through Deaf & Hard of Hearing Services.

Principle Duties:

  • Process deposits, bills and payments along with payroll and 1099s.

  • Maintain QuickBooks Online software

  • Assist with external annual review and report findings to the Board of Directors.

  • Oversee other audits such as workers’ compensation, grants, or programs and generate schedules and reports as needed.

  • Coordinate with program and event coordinators to set up and maintain program budgets.

  • Organize registrations and transactions related to ASL workshops and events year-round.

  • Ensure confidentiality of information and become HIPPA certified.

Qualifications & Skills:

The person filling this position will be instrumental in elevating the organization for successful growth. This is a vital role that requires excellent analytical skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively with flexibility and initiative. Having familiarity with accounting regulations governing non-profit organizations, employees and independent contractors is key.
